On this day on June 6, 1944, approximately 156,000 American, British and Canadian forces landed on the heavily fortified coast of France’s Normandy region. My Uncle, a Captain in the Army, was one of them. He would never speak of that day to any of us kids. Music by Iron Maiden – The Longest Day.

According to the artist Johnson Ting, he constructed this work of art because he “loves men in big ass suits that tear the shit outta people.” As a big SciFi fan, he always wanted to do a mech painting featuring lots of explosions, decals, and general mayhem. I believe he accomplished his goal!
