EDI’s Mass Effect 3 Makeover

In Mass Effect 2 fans are introduced to EDI (Enhanced Defense Intelligence – pronounced Eee-Dee), an Artificial Intelligence AI that manages the electronic warfare defenses on Commander Shepard’s Alliance Frigate the Normandy SR-2 . After the Collectors manage to get a virus into the Normandy’s computer systems systems via the Reaper IFF (Identify Friend or Foe) Joker gives EDI full access to all systems on the Normandy. EDI helps the main crewmembers survive when the vessel is boarded by the Collectors and she becomes a trusted member of the crew by the end of Mass Effect 2.

Here is how EDI was portrayed visually in Mass Effect 2:

In Mass Effect 3 EDI takes over the body of the Cerberus Mole “Dr. Eva Coré” after the Normandy crew takes her down in combat on Mars. EDI is tasked with extracting vital information from the android concerning a Prothean weapon. In the process of this data extraction EDI takes control of the body of Dr. Eva Coré which allows her to join the away missions with the squad.

EDI is voiced by the sexy Tricia Helfer who is well known for her portrayal of Number 6 on the Battlestar Galactica series:

I did not read anywhere that EDI’s body was modeled after Tricia Helfer but there sure seems to a strong family resemblance:
